The Journey

Rail Runners was conceived as an innovative mobile game that combines physical activity with engaging gameplay mechanics. The project aimed to redefine how we approach exercise by incorporating elements from gacha games, creating a unique blend of fitness and gaming that encourages regular physical activity through an immersive digital experience.

Technical Growth & Learning

The development focused on creating a robust gamification system that would effectively motivate users to maintain regular physical activity. We implemented features such as daily challenges, progressive rewards, and a sophisticated ranking system. The project required careful consideration of accessibility features to ensure the game was inclusive for users with different abilities.

Project Impact & Skills Gained

This project was particularly valuable as it aligned perfectly with Epitech's philosophy of teaching students "how to learn rather than repeat facts". Through building Rail Runners, I gained crucial experience in design and marketing, developing skills in:
